If you’ve finally switched your career to airbrushing or it appeals to you as a hobby, airbrushing is quite fun in both cases. For a beginner, it’s not a big deal to master airbrushing. It’s merely a game of determination and practice.

Airbrushing is a versatile technique used to spray paint or any other medium to apply on the surface using an airbrush gun.

Airbrushing techniques dominate over other relevant painting techniques daily owing to their fascinating benefits. It lets an artist create infinite color transitions, and the paint is applied neatly and evenly on the surface.

GET STARTED airbrushing

An airbrush, air compressor or pump, air hose, and paint are the essentials you need to start your journey into airbrushing. Other accessories vary depending on their applications.

Airbrushes can be diversified based on the size of the nozzle. I recommend starting with three different nozzle sizes that will provide you versatility from painting a point to spraying on larger surfaces. Other airbrush guns help you create varying effects with fine details, radical colorful transitions, and gradients.

A compressor compresses the air and produces acceptable pressure in the air hoses. A compressor that regulates the pressure between the range of 30 to 60 PSI can be used for airbrushing. For airbrushing, oil-based paints and water-based paints, also called acrylics, are widely practiced. The choice of paints depends on your application surface. You will need food-safe paint if it is aimed at decorating cakes. Airbrushing technique can be used to give drastic effects on any surface. Artists use airbrushing techniques to provide a realistic finish for their artworks and breathe life to their abstracts.

Airbrushing is a great way to hide blemishes and acne because the makeup fine spray falls nicely into the pores. Airbrushing has become trendy in the makeup industry. Airbrush makeup ends up with full coverage and a natural look. It helps to create gorgeous body tattoos and precise nail art.
